The Vineyard

The soil and the climatology

Our vineyards are placed in the spurs of Algairen's mountain range, in the A.O. Cariñena, at an altitude between 550 and 730 meters. The soils are slightly deep, poor and of dry, where it is predominately gravel and slate, which give scant productions. In spite of the fact that the climate is extreme, with cold winters, hot summers and the scourge of the cold north wind, the grapes mature perfectly due to the altitude of the vineyard.

The vineyard

We have vineyard with double cordon as vine training system and in “gobelet”. The oldest vineyard is 77 years old and the younger one was planted in 2006. We cultivate many different varieties: Garnacha, Tempranillo, Mazuela, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Chardonnay, Viognier, Rousanne, Verdejo and Godello.

The viticulture

In our opinion, the process of making wine begins in the vineyard, therefore the viticulture is the principal part of the project. We carry out a viticulture with the least possible intervention, respectful with the environment and to obtain limited productions.
